RIGHT LOVE AT A WRONG TIME

CHAPTER 1: Epic Fail

Kringg! Kringg! Kkrriinnggg! (Alarm clock ringing)

“Ohh… shocks! 8:15am na pala and I’m very

late!” He quickly fixed his bed and went to

 the bathroom.

This is the first day of the 19 years old

Remar to go on a university as a 1^st year

college. He doesn’t know what course will he take

 but he decided to study criminology to

follow his father’s steps.

“Pambihira namang buhay to. It’s the very

first day of class but I’m late. Hhsshhh!”

Remar rushed tying his shoelace and went

out from his condo.

“Alright. Alright. University of Athletes (UA),

here I come.”

Then he walk towards their room and when

he entered.

Bbboooggg!! (Book slammed at the table)

“Oh my! What’s your name? Why are you late?!” Ms. Mariel Labona exclaimed.

A 22 years old instructor of Music and Arts at the university.

“Ahhh. Ahhh. Ahhmmm. I’m Remar Santiago ma’am. I’m late because of… of… of traffic. Yeah because of traffic.” He answered in a jitter way.

“Shut up Mr. Santiago! Your reason is unacceptable! Pasalamat ka, it’s the first day of class. Go to your seat now.” She said.

“Thank you ma’am.” He bowed his head as he take his seat.

“One more thing, don’t call me ma’am. Mas sanay ako sa tawag na Ms. Mariel.” She told the class.

“Hhhmmmm… Grabe namang teacher yan, ah este instructor. She’s so surly. Maganda pa man din siya.” Whispered to himself.

(The bell rang)

“Okay class. Nice to meet you all. See you around, goodbye.” She waves her hand as she went out from the classroom.

“Wow.. She’s so beautiful. Pambihira kang Remar ka. She’s an instructor and you’re only a student kaya hindi pwede.” Whispered while smirking.

It’s already 12:30pm and Remar doesn’t have a class anymore so he decided to look for the gym of the university and have his workout.

“Wew. Maganda din pala gym nila dito ah. Hhmmm.. They have all the complete sets of equipments.”

3:55pm when he is finished with his workout, so he went to the canteen to have his merienda.

At the canteen, Ms. Mariel saw him and in her mind…

“Why I am feeling like this? I can’t explain. I don’t know why pero anlakas ng dating niya. Parang natamaan na ako sakanya.”

After she saw him, umalis na siya kaagad.

7:45pm when Remar got to his condo unit.

“Haiissttt.. What a wonderful day. Pero mas wonderful sana kung hindi ako na-late. Tuloy, napagalitan ako.”

He ate his dinner and after eating, he went to his bedroom.

While lying on his bed, an idea came into his mind.

“Ms. Mariel Labona. Yeahh! Mariel Labona. Alright! Gotta search her name sa facebook.”

With a big smile, he started to type quickly to search for Mariel Labona.

 He saw her account and without wasting time, he quickly sent a friend request.

He clicked her profile picture and stared at it for almost 5 minutes.

After staring, he feels so in love then he turned off his phone and went to sleep.  “Good night Ms. Mariel, kahit pinagalitan mo ako kanina.”

CHAPTER 2: THE START

“Hhwwaahhhh… Katamad bumangon, but, wow! I woke up early today. I must fix myself well to look conducive.”

As his regular routine, he went to his kitchen to cook for his breakfast. After eating, he washed the dishes and he went to the bathroom to take a bath.

“Sa isang sulyap mo ay nabihag ako, para bang himala ang lahat ng ito.”

He sang sweetly while taking a bath.

“What should I wear? Ohhh... this one.” Asking himself.

He get his black jeans and black t-shirt from his cabinet and he wears them.

“Oha! Simple but astig.” Talking to himself at the mirror.

He is walking at the street near the university when suddenly…

Tuggssshhhh!! He bumped with another guy.

“Sorry bro. It’s not my intention to bump you.” He told the guy immediately.

“You must look for your way. Haharang harang eh.” Then the guy walk away.

He is Garth, a playing coach of basketball at the university.

“If I’m not only a freshman, I might punched his face already. No manners at all. Nagso sorry na nga ang tao ehh. Akala mo kung sino.”

Then he fixed himself then he walk going to the university.

His day was already ruined because of what happened.

He entered their room and seated silently.

While waiting, he brought out his headset and listen to the music.

After 7 minutes..

“Good morning class! So, we will discuss about  the history of Arts.” Ms. Mariel told the class.

Then the bestfriend of Remar, Nique answered, “Buti pa yang Arts may history, ehh yung history namin, hindi na niya maalala.”

“Stop it Nique. Humuhugot ka nanaman.” He told his bestfriend.

“Excuse me Mr. Sato, that’s not part of our lesson.” Ms. Mariel said.

“Sorry po ma’am. Ahh este.. Ms. Mariel.” He answered.

After their class, the two best friends went to the training room to have their training. They are both Kickboxing practitioners from their high school years that’s why they can join in some fighting events.

While they are having their training, some of the beginners came. Their coach are not there to teach those beginners that’s why Remar and Nique lead them and teach the proper steps and applications.

Suddenly, Remar heard a voice from the door.

“Can you repeat it again?”

When he looked at the door, he saw Ms. Mariel peeping with a smile in her face. The one who is asking him to repeat.

They look at each other’s eyes and Remar felt something.

In his mind…

“I can’t understand myself. She’s so beautiful. I can’t stop this feeling anymore. I think I like her already.”

“Can you repeat it again? Please…” She asked.

“Repeat what Ms. Mariel?” he answered.

“Please repeat on what you are doing a while back.” She replied.

So then, he repeated the drill again and Ms. Mariel looks like very interested.

She watched until the end of the training and it was finished after 1 hour..

“Ba-bye Remar. Thank you for your time, also to you, Nique. Mauuna na akong umuwi ha.” She said.

“Ingat po ma’am. Thank you for joining our training.” Remar replied.

While they are walking, Nique said to his bestfriend,

“Mukhang may hindi ka sinasabi sakin bro. It looks like you have a secret na tinatago. Tapos kanina ka pa nakangiti. Ano ba yan, ha?”

“Wala naman bro. It’s just a matter of being inspired, hehehe.” Remar replied.

“Inspired? Kanino? Ohh, yeahhh! Kay Ms. Mariel noh.” He said.

“Hahaha! Maybe. Hhmmm.. Oo na nga, para tumahimik ka na.” He answered then they both laughed.

“Oh, pano bay an bro,  dito na ako. Ingat a.” Nique said.

“Okay bro. Ingat din.” He answered.

Remar went home full of joy. His ruined day turned into happiness because of Ms. Mariel.

CHAPTER 3: CONFESSION

After what happened during the training, Remar and Ms. Mariel became more closer to each other. They act normally when they are inside the university to avoid issue.

Everyday, they chat and texts each other. They call and talk about many things of their past.

More weeks and months had passed, still,  they show love and care  to each other. They even go out frequently to have their date.

November 10, 2014..

Remar had a fight in kickboxing event and to inform her, she called Ms. Mariel.

“Hello, Ms. Mariel!” he said.

“Hi! Please don’t call me Ms. Ayokong natatawag ng ganun, chaka mejo matagal na din naman na tayong magkakilala. Just call me with my name. By the way, bakit ka pala napatawag?” she asked.

“I have a fight tomorrow. Can you come and watch?” he answered.

“Ohh my! I’m not sure if I could watch. I have something to do tomorrow ehh.” She replied.

“Uuhhhmmmm.. Okay. Just text me if you can come ha.” He said in a sad voice.

“Yeah. Don’t be sad. Focus on your fight even if I’m not there. I’ll try to come.”

“Okay. See you tomorrow, sana makapunta ka.” He replied.

After the call, he felt sadness inside. Suddenly, his phone vibrates. It was his best friend telling him to go and have their last training.

It’s already 6:47pm when they finished their training.

“Good luck to us bro.” he told his bestfriend.

“Lets win the fight. Balita ko malalakas daw makakalaban natin.” Nique replied.

“If they are strong, let’s not fight them with power. Diskarte at utak ang panlaban natin sakanila. We can do this bro.” Telling his best friend to uplift their confidence.

November 11, 2014. 11:23am..

Remar is ready for his fight. While having his warm up, he’s thinking of Mariel.

“Where is she? Makakapunta kaya siya?” he whispered to himself.

“May sinasabi ka bro?” Nique asked.

“Ahhh.. Nothing bro. Sabi ko, let’s do our best.” He replied.

3 fights remaining before his fight and still, Mariel was not there.

“Please wear your gear Mr. Santiago, Remar. Blue corner.” Announcer talking to the microphone.

“Siguro hindi na siya makakarating.” Thinking as he starts to wear the gears.

After 8 minutes, Mariel came catching her breath. She calls Remar’s name while waving her hand as she walks towards him.

“Ohh.. a.. a.. a.. I thought hindi ka na makakarating.” He asked.

“Pwede ba yun? This is the first time that I will watch your fight kaya buti nalang at  hindi natuloy yung gagawin ko sana.” She replied with a glowing eyes.

“Aahhmmmm.. Thank you. After this on going fight, ako na ang susunod.” He said.

“You can do it. I am here and I will cheer for you.” She replied with a sweet smile.

Tinggg! The bell rang and the fight begins.

Remar gave his opponent a blowing punches and fast hard kicks. His opponent is strong and he was exchanging strong defense from the attacks of Remar.

As the fight was going on, Mariel shouts to cheer him saying,

“Go Remar! Go! Go! Go!”

The fight was finished at the last which is the 3^rd round and via majority decision, Remar won the fight.

“You are really good Remar. Congratulations!” Mariel greeted him while wiping his sweat.

“Thank you Ma.. Mariel.” he answered with a big smile.

After the competition, they went together with the team to a restaurant to celebrate their victory.

“Hey Remar, you should eat a lot kasi napagod ka kanina.” She said.

“Hahahaha! Sanay na ako. I used to eat few specially when I loss weight. How about you? You should eat a lot also.” He told her.

“ I eat a lot, but see, I’m still small at mapayat.” She answered.

Then all of them laughed.

“You’re not mapayat naman ehh. Sexy ka lang talga.” He said.

“Tumigil ka nga Remar. Hhhmmmm..” She replied with a blushing cheeks.

After they eat and talked for the recent event, their other teammates went home and he decided to accompany Mariel going home.

“Hatid na kita Mariel, it’s already 10:15 pm at delikado lalo na at mag isa mo.” He said.

“But Remar, you’re tired.” She replied.

“Akong bahala.” He answered.

He took her hand and they went together.

When they are near the house, he looked straight at her eyes.

After a few seconds, he hugged her tight and kissed her.

 “I don’t know why I am feeling like this. But I think, I like you. And now, I’m already in love with you Mariel.” He said sincerely.

“Me too Remar, I feel the same. I know this is wrong because I am your instructor, but I already start loving you.” She replied.

They are both sincere on confessing their feelings to each other. After that, Mariel went to their house.

“Good night, Mariel. I love you!” he said.

“Good night din. Ingat ka sa pag uwi ha. I love you too!” She answered.

She waves her hand to Remar while entering their gate.

CHAPTER 4: ABSTRUSE AMOURETTE

It’s been 8 months and their relationship continues even though they are not a couple but still, they treat each other as a special someone. He also started to court Mariel but she’s not answering him yet.

3 more months had passed until Remar discovered something…

It’s a beautiful Sunday. Remar and Mariel will have their date so he fixed himself well. 7:30 am, he went to their house.

Dingggdonggg. (doorbell rang)

“Good morning tita. I’m Remar San…”

“Santiago… Pasok ka iho.” She said.

“Thank you po tita Marjie.” He answered.

“I already know you iho, matagal na. Nakukuwento ka saakin ni Mariel, and I saw your pictures too.” She said.

“Pati din po kayo tita, naikukuwento din po kayo sakin ni Mariel.” He replied.

“Mariel. Nandito na si Remar. Bilisan mo jan. He is waiting for you. May lakad ata kayo.” Calling for her daughter.

“Yes ma.. Malapit na po ako matapos dito.” She said loudly.

While waiting. He told tita Marjie that he loves her daughter so much. He also informed her that he’s courting Mariel.

“Sorry po tita kung niligawan ko si Mariel nang hindi nagpapaalam sainyo.” He said.

“Okay lang naman na ligawan mo siya iho lalo na’t I see that you’re not a bad guy. Saakin lang naman, you should not rush. Huwag kayong magmadali iho. Mas mabuting makilala niyo muna ang isa’t isa.” She replied.

After they talked, Mariel went out from her room and she looks so beautiful.

“Punta na po kami tita.” He said.

“She must be here at exactly 6 pm ha.” Tita Marjie replied.

“Sure tita. Walang labis, walang kulang.” He said with a smile.

They went out and they decided to go at the park to have a walk. Remar buy a fries for them and they ate it together while walking around.

“Remar, I’ll just go to the comfort room ha.” She said then she gave her bag and phone to him.

“Okay. Maghihintay nalang ako dito.” He replied.

While waiting, he opened the phone and looked for their pictures then he accidentally clicked another folder.

He looked at it and he was shocked on what he saw.

“Ito yung nakabanggaan ko noon na mayabang.” Thinking with indefinable face.

Suddenly… Mariel returned and saw his reaction.

“Why Remar? Is there something wrong? She asked then she get the phone from his hand.

“Kaya pala Mariel. Kaya pala hindi mo ako sinasagot kasi may karelasyon kang iba.” He said in a low and sad voice.

“Re.. Re.. Remar. I will explain. Please listen.” She answered.

“Anu pang pakikinggan ko ehh kitang kita naman sa mga pictures nyong dalawa that you’re happy together!” He exclaimed.

“Please, listen. Yeah, naging kami ng halos 5 years pero matagal na kaming nag break, noong hindi pa nagsisimula ang pasukan. He is my bestfriend before but we fall into lovers, pero ngayon, wala na.” She explained with a teary eyes.

“Pero bakit ganun Mariel? Bakit ngayon lang? You didn’t tell me this things before.” He asked.

“Because I don’t want to hurt you Remar. Sasabihin ko sana nung una pa pero natatakot ako na baka pag nalaman mo eh, lalayuan mo na ako. I admit, hindi pa ako nakaka move on sakanya, but please, believe me, mahal kita Remar. Please don’t think that I just played with you.” She said then tears starts to fall from her eyes.

Instead of getting angry, he grabbed her and hugged her tight saying,

“Wala kang dapat ipagsorry. If that’s the case na hindi ka pa nakakamove on, maybe you need more time to think about it.” Then he wipe her tears.

5:58 in the evening when they arrived home…

“Good bye Mariel. I love you.” Then he kissed her forehead.

“Take care. I love you too.” She answered.

He thanked tita Marjie for allowing her daughter to go out with him.

He went his way back to his condo and texted his best friend if he could join him to drink.

“I’m coming bro. Sagot mo lahat ah kasi ikaw ang nagyaya.” Nique said.

“Oo bro, no problem. Ako ang bahala.” He replied.

Remar went to 7 Eleven to buy 1 case of beer and other foods.

After 30 minutes of waiting, Nique arrived and they started to drink.

“Bro, do you have a problem?” Nique asked.

“Uuuhhmmm, nothing bro.” He answered.

“Aysus! Kilala kita bro, hindi ka naman umiinom if you don’t have a problem.” Nique said.

“Hindi ko lang kasi maintindihan ehh. I’ve done everything to make her happy, to make her feel my love but, why? I love her so much pero bakit niya iyon ginawa? Hindi niya sinabi ng mas maaga na hindi pa pala siya nakakamove on sa ex niya.” He replied.

“Bro… (While tapping Remar’s shoulder) May mga bagay talgang mahirap tanggapin, like what you’ve said na hindi pa siya nakakamove on sa ex niya. Maybe she fall for you immediately coz you make her happy but she still loves her ex.” Nique said.

“What should I do, bro?” He asked.

“Ok. I don’t mean anything. Just my opinion. For me, you must decide. If you continue, masasaktan ka lang. Pero depende padin sayo yan bro.” Nique answered.

It’s already midnight when Nique went home and Remar went to sleep.

Saurday, 8:25 in the morning. Remar wake up with a hangover. While lying on his bed, he got his phone. He opened it and ther are 53 messages and 27 missed calls from Mariel.

He replied and told her what happened that night.

“Why did you drink Remar? It’s my fault. Because of me, you’re acting like that.” She said.

“Ssshhhh.. Don’t blame yourself Mariel. Don’t worry, safe naman kasi dito kami sa bahay uminom ni Nique, sinamahan niya ako.” He replied.

“Kahit na. Please don’t drink again specially if it is because of me.” She said.

“Oo na po. Hindi na po ako iinom.”

After the call, he started to fix himself. He went to the kitchen and prepared a spicy noodles and a cup of cold water for his breakfast.

CHAPTER 5: BACK TO NORMAL

He cleaned his condo and he finished it for 30 minutes.

After he cleaned, he texted Mariel to meet him at the park. He take a bath and picked his favourite suit which is the black shirt and black jeans.

Before he went there, he brought fries which is one of Mariel’s favourite.

“Hi Mariel!” He greeted.

“Hello. How are you?” She asked.

“I’m fine. Nga pala, favourite mo, fries.” Then he gave it to her.

“Thank you.” She replied.

While they are sitting near the garden, he brought out a t-shirt from his bag. The t-shirt was, ofcourse, color black and it has a print of Remar’s name at the

back. He gave it to her and told that she must keep it as a remembrance. Then he hugged her tight and kissed her forehead.

“Why are you doing this Remar?” She asked.

“Let’s enjoy this last moment that we’ll treat as a couple.” He answered.

“What do you mean?” She asked again with a sad face.

“Hindi ka pa nakakamove on sa ex mo. How can you love me kung ganun? That’s why I decided to end our mutual correlation.” He said.

“Pero mahal kita Remar.”

“Oo mahal mo ako, pero hindi ka pa nakakamove on sakanya. Ang masasabi ko lang, if you really love him hanggang ngayon, go back to him. Balikan mo siya and sana maging masaya kayo.” He told her.

“Pe… Pero…” Then she started to cry.

“Sshhh… Sshhh… We’re friends naman parin ehh. Huwag ka nang umiyak.” He wipe her tears.

“Thank you for everything ha. I thought magagalit ka nung nalaman mo un, but, instead of getting mad, you still show your love. I will never forget you Remar.” She replied.

They hug each other and they enjoyed until evening. Before they will go home, they went to a restaurant to have their dinner and Remar ordered food for them.

“Hey.. You must eat this, this, and this.”

While pointing all the foods on their table.

“Hahaha! Grabe ka namang mang asar.” She said then she punched his shoulder.

“I’m not teasing you Mariel. Para naman tumaba ka.” He replied, then they start to eat.

After eating, he accompanied her in waiting a taxi to ride.

“Good night Remar, thank you ulit ha.” She said.

“Good night too. You’re welcome. Take care.” He replied then he let her ride on the taxi and he went his way back to his condo.

While he is walking, he’s thinking about their happy moments together until he reach his unit. He feels very tired but he is happy for his decision.

Monday, 1:37 pm, Remar and Nique was having their training with the beginners then suddenly, the door opened…

“Can I join?” someone asked from the door.

When they looked back, they saw her standing.

“Of course, Ms. Mariel, come in.” Remar said.

Remar taught her the basic steps and Ms. Mariel enjoyed every thing na ipinapagawa sakanya.

“You can do it, kaya mo yan. Limang sit ups nalang.” He told her.

“Fourrr.. Fiveee.. Whoohhh!” she exclaimbed.

“Oh see! Kaya mo naman pala ehh.” He said while laughing at her.

They go back to normal. Ms. Mariel treat him as her

student and Remar treated her as his instructor.
